Connor’s Mission was founded in 2016 with one simple but powerful goal: to bring hope, comfort, and support to children and families facing pediatric cancer. What started as one child’s heartfelt desire to help has grown into a mission that continues to impact lives year after year.
At the heart of Connor’s Mission is Connor’s wish to “change the world.” Long before there was a nonprofit, there was a little boy who wanted to help sick children. Without being asked, Connor began setting aside his own toys, both new and old, so they could be sold to raise money for children going through difficult battles. His compassion was inspired in part by Ella, a beloved friend whose strength, spirit and courage left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Ella’s memory continues to guide this mission. She remains a symbol of resilience, love and light, and her impact is still felt in the work we do every day. Connor’s Mission exists not only to honor her legacy, but also to carry it forward in meaningful ways.
Since 2016, Connor’s Mission has worked to support children and families through toy and supply drives, community giving efforts and direct support for organizations serving pediatric cancer patients and their loved ones. Funds raised help provide new toys, basic necessities, comfort items and financial support to causes and organizations making a difference, including Children’s Hospital of Michigan and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Detroit. The mission also continues to advocate for pediatric cancer awareness and research.
What makes Connor’s Mission special is that it was built from genuine compassion. This mission did not begin as an idea for recognition. It began with a child who saw pain in the world and wanted to do something about it. That spirit still defines who we are today.
Connor and his sister Mackenna continue to be part of that light, helping shine hope into places that need it most. Over the years, the support of the community has made it possible for Connor’s Mission to grow, evolve, and reach more families. From local donations to larger seasonal drives, every act of kindness has helped move this mission forward.
